Sharon Campbell

I’m one of the Fertility Counsellors here at NUH Life and my role is to help support our patients as they go through their fertility journey.  I provide a safe, confidential space for patients to process their feelings and thoughts.  Maybe to reflect on their experience or talk about the way forward and explore strategies and techniques to support their emotional experience.  

I’ve worked in Fertility for around 18 years now and not always as a counsellor.   I’ve worked in the private setting and also currently work in two NHS trusts. 

It always feels an honour to be present alongside the patient and be part of their experience.  I often hear from them that no-one truly understands what it feels like to go through assisted fertility treatment – unless you’ve been through it yourself and that can be so isolating and lonely.  I’m glad I can be that person to talk with.
